Emergency services were first called to Elmwood Road after 4:00 pm and then twice to Church Street in the center of town at approximately 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

This was followed by another incident in New Addington, where a man was reportedly stabbed and shot, according to the London Metropolitan Police.

At least two people were arrested after the incident. At this time, it is not known if the incidents are related.

Three stabbings occurred in two hours in Croydon on Monday 20 March.

The Metropolitan Police have issued a Section 60 order in Croydon, giving officers the power to stop and search people without suspicion.

Photos of the area show two police cordons in place. One is on Elmwood Road residential area and the other is outside McDonald’s on Church Street.

The Church Street incident is believed to have been preceded by a large brawl between a group of young people, with the London Ambulance Service saying it had received two reports of roadside stabbings in the space of 40 minutes.

A spokesperson for the Met told MailOnline that at least two people were arrested in tonight’s incident.

Regarding the first incident, they said:

A police officer was present along with a London ambulance.

“A man, believed to be 18 years old, was found with a stab wound. He was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition.

“A man nearby has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm. The crime scene remains intact.

Regarding the second incident, a spokesperson said:

“Two young men who I believed were both teenagers were stabbed.

“They were taken to hospital. Both conditions have been assessed as not life-threatening.

“At least one young man has been arrested. A large crime scene is in place.

“A Section 60 order granting police additional stopping and searching powers has been granted from 19:15 to 06:00.”

“Police and LAS were called to Cudham Drive, Croydon at approximately 21:51 after reports that a group of people were armed with weapons and damaged a vehicle.

“We received further calls reporting that a man had been stabbed and shot.

A police officer specializing in firearms was present and upon arrival found the man with a minor cut to his hand.

“He is currently undergoing treatment at LAS. No arrests have been made at this early stage. An investigation is underway.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said My London: “We have responded to multiple calls regarding the stabbing incident in Croydon on the afternoon and evening of 20 March.

“The first call regarding the incident on Elmwood Road was at 4:14 p.m., and we dispatched ambulance crews, fast response vehicle paramedics, motorcycle paramedics, advanced paramedics and incident response officers to the scene. bottom.
