A man masked with a “pistol” tries to rob a teen with Borehamwood

While armed with “a kind of pistol” in Borehamwood, two men tried to rob a teenager.

Police sued witnesses after an attempted robbery in the Cliftonway alley leading to Gateshead Road between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 21.

The 17-year-old victim passed through when two men in balaclavas pressed him against the fence and demanded that it fall into his hands.

A police spokesperson said one of them had a weapon called a “some kind of pistol.”

The victim managed to escape and nothing was taken.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • A black man wearing a black hoodie, a black tracksuit bottom, a black Nike trainer, gloves and a balaclava.
  • A black man wearing a blue tracksuit, a black baseball cap, a Nike trainer, and a unique face mask.

Helen Osborne, a criminal police officer at the Hertzmia Local Crime Unit, said:

“Our investigation is still ongoing, and as part of that, we have seen someone who has seen what happened, or two men in an area that matches the explanation given. I would like to hear from people.

“Any information can be of great help to our inquiry, so if you can help, please contact us.”
