The city of Kitakyushu announced last Friday (September 10th) that a man in his 70s who had been bitten by his butt in the city’s Wakamatsu Ward was a recent victim.
According to the Kitakyushu wildlife authorities, the man jumped out at himself after finding a monkey munching on chestnuts in the field, giving him a painful blow.
Especially in Wakamatsu Ward, 18 people have been suffering from anger since August 7, and it has become a hotbed for the enthusiastic activities of monkeys.
On August 10, the city government warned residents after four monkey bites in just one day.
The first victim of the day was 70-year-old Anya, who also seems to be targeting the elderly. Around 9:30 am when the primate sank her teeth in her right calf, she was drying her laundry in the yard.
Then 34 years old police The officer was bitten by his left foot while he was out in response to a monkey sighting. Two women bitten on the evening of August 10 ended the horror of the day in the ward.
No one was seriously injured, but the inhabitants were told to avoid the manic macaques and to remain silent when nearby.
To reduce confusion, authorities have also set up setbox traps and trucks with warning sirens are patrolling the area.
Authorities also say the problem is getting worse. There were 37 monkey sightings and monkey-related problems in 2019, 243 in 2020, and 211 from April to June this year alone.
Japanese macaques, also known as snow monkeys, are the most common primates in the archipelago and may be the culprit.
