A man detained in Haringey assaulted three police officers and made racist remarks to others before the officers were taken to hospital. London.

A police statement said a 32-year-old man punched one of the officers and fled the scene.
He was later tracked down by police and detained near the scene. Additional officers attended and he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting paramedics.

The man was taken into custody at a north London police station, where he assaulted two more police officers and made racist remarks about others.
One of the police officers attacked by the man collapsed shortly afterwards.
He received first aid from colleagues and is being treated in a stable condition before being taken to hospital.
Chief Inspector Karl Curran said: “Police officers come to work every day with the primary objective of protecting the public.
“Several police officers were injured today by a man who was acting aggressively against civilians.
“One of these officers is still in the hospital. Our thoughts are with him, his family, and his colleagues.
“I want to commend the actions of the officers who went to help him immediately and gave him first aid.”
The officer remained in stable condition at the hospital Thursday night.
