BBC Special to explore the rise of meteorites to the fame of boy band BTS

The BBC Special explores the rise in fame of the Korean boy band BTS.

The BBC One movie will feature the group’s debut at Radio 1 Live Lounge, dynamite hit performances, dance permits, and a cover of Puff Daddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You.”

The special “BTS @ Radio 1” will be hosted by Adele Roberts on Radio 1. Adel Roberts explores the culture and industry that led the band to the success of Jaguar Note.

Roberts will revisit when BTS was first played at the station and relive the trip to Seoul in 2018. There she met a BTS choreographer and fans of a group known as the Army.

The special will also include an interview with the band prior to their live lounge debut.

Roberts said: “I am very pleased with BTS fans around the world, especially our own British troops.

“They were very passionate and very supportive and have wanted a Radio 1 live lounge since we first played the band.

“Four years later, BTS broke records, barriers and boundaries. That dream will now come true. I’m excited to finally host the world’s largest boy band!”

One of the most popular and influential acts in world music, this group consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. BTS @ Radio 1 will air on BBC One at 10:35 pm on July 28th and will also be available on BBC iPlayer. BTS’Radio 1 Live Lounge performance will air on July 27th at 12:00 pm at Radio 1’s Live Lounge Show. Viewers can watch the performance on Radio 1’s YouTube channel.
