Brixton Shooting: Two Arrested After A Man in His Twenties Died

Two were arrested after a man in his twenties was killed in a shooting in Brixton.

Police were warned by hospital staff in southern London after a man in his twenties was hospitalized for a bullet injury at around 6:25 am on Thursday.

Despite the efforts of the ambulance crew, he died later that afternoon.

A 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of murder.

A second man was arrested on suspicion of supporting a criminal.

Both of them were taken to the police station, where they remained detained.

Relatives of the deceased man have been informed and have not yet been officially identified.

Post-mortem examinations will be held soon.

Detectives from Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

The man is believed to have been injured after being shot near Belinda Road on SW9 after 6 am.

DCI Mark Rogers said:

“Any information can help identify the person responsible for killing a young man.”
