It simply says, “I’m going to England. See you soon.”

This departure is the fourth attempt by the team to leave South Africa after the government announced that it had added South Africa to the Red List after concerns about a new Omicron variant.

Initially, the touring party tried to return home before the 4am cutoff point on Sunday to avoid isolation at the hotel rather than at home. They secured charter planes, but they couldn’t leave because the border between Britain and the European Union was closed and they couldn’t get permission from the Civil Aviation Authority.

Their second flight was scheduled to fly with the Scarlets, Münster and Zebre teams getting off in Dublin on Sunday afternoon.

Cardiff Rugby was subsequently hit by news that two teammates tested positive in one suspected case of Omicron, forcing them to return to the hotel for quarantine.

Münster’s troops were also forced to stay in South Africa due to a positive incident, and only Scarlets and Zebre returned.

The Thursday morning delay was Cardiff’s last unsuccessful attempt, and the flight was delayed due to flight restrictions to the United Kingdom.

The focus is on the fact that most of the team has returned home Remaining players in Cape Town And their planned return.
