Kaspa’s Desserts will open on Barry Island in mid-September.
Kaspa’s Desserts has more than 100 stores nationwide and claims to be the UK’s fastest growing dessert diner.
The dessert parlor chain offers hot and cold desserts such as waffles, crepes, sundaes, cakes, puddings, fine gelatos, milkshakes, smoothies, tea and coffee.
The franchisee-run Barry Island venue will employ 25 staff.
The new venue will open in the unit between Greggs and the Bali Bados Beach Hat Gift Shop on Padget Street.
One of the directors, Jason Frein, was born and raised in Barry with Heather Scott Cook and Zack Frein, and was excited to bring a venture to the famous island. The trio has invested £ 400,000 in the project.
“We have found a niche market in the market to provide a non-alcoholic midnight environment for families and young people in the region,” said Jason Frayne.
Frayne added that he is working with training provider ACT Training to provide certified management qualifications, has no zero-hour contracts, and will be paid a “living wage” for everyone over the age of 23. .. He added that 16 and 17 years old start at £ 8 per hour.
