Co-op scraps Christmas TV ads to support the community’s refrigerator scheme

The traditional multi-million pound Christmas TV ad run by Co-op will be replaced by a move to promote a network of community refrigerators.

A Manchester-based retail giant said its funding would double the network of community refrigerators established by the environmental charity Hubbub in 2016 to 500.

Each community refrigerator redistributes an average of 2.4 tonnes of food each month.
