Coleen Nolan Her family felt “cursed” by cancer.
The· Loose woman Star, 56, lost her sister Bernie to the disease in 2013, but other sisters Linda and Anne have recently been fighting the disease.
Colleen said: “You feel like a curse on yourself, but it’s not. So many families are experiencing this.
“But it’s difficult because it’s cancer. Losing Bernie was devastating to our family. She was the life and soul of our family.
“We all pulled each other through it, and I and my sisters had this wonderful opportunity to do a cruising show.
“And literally within a few weeks of it’s over, Anne was first diagnosed again, and then literally four days later Linda was diagnosed.
“And it was just a bum. It was really shocking.”
Colleen was just a kid when she started playing with her sisters as part of the Irish girl band The Nolans.
Featuring all six sisters, the group became famous for songs such as But I Do and Stuck On You, and I’m In The Mood For Dancing became their signature melody.
After Linda and Anne announced last year that they were both fighting cancer, Coleen bravely opened her mind about her own fears of the disease.
Speaking of OK! In a September magazine, the three mothers confirmed that they would consider undergoing double mastectomy as a precautionary measure.
She states: “When I first heard about Linda and Anne in April, my kneeling reaction keeps these breasts away from me!
“It’s like two time bombs sitting there. Since then, I’ve calmed down, but I’m still worried and awake at night.
Linda and Anne have written a co-biography entitled Stronger Together: How We’re Living While Fighting, due out in April.
