Tech Boss Appointed as New FinTech Wales Chair

A membership organization advocating for FinTech and the financial services sector in Wales has appointed Louise O’Shea, CEO of, as the new chair.

At that AGM, the new directors of the board were also appointed by Ben Joakim, Strategic Head of the Principality Building Association, and Emon Tuhami, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of X8IQ.

New panel members have also been voted by nonprofits, including Ella Hastings, Chief Marketing Officer of Wagonex, James Rudolf, Chief Commercial Officer of Acquis Insurance, and Sarah McQuaid, Senior Director of Marketing at LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

Sarah Williams-Gardener, Chief Executive Officer of FinTech Wales, said: The founding members have a true vision not only for the organization itself, but also for the FinTech and financial services sector in Wales, evidence of a 39% increase in membership this year alone.

“2021 is an exceptional year for FinTech Wales and we are very proud of the work we have accomplished. This year we had so many exciting firsts. FinTech businesses around the world. O’Shea, who was appointed as interim chairman in March to replace high-tech entrepreneur Richard Theo, said:
