Chief Inspector Sheryl Hannah of Staffordshire Police said: “This is truly a tragedy that a 7 week old boy died while being cared for by two people who should have been there to protect him. It was an event.

“Based on our research, no medical attention was sought when Ronnie was unwell.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by Ronnie’s death.”
