Everyone in Wales is given a free tree to plant

All Welsh households will be provided with free trees to plant as part of the Welsh government’s climate crisis plan.

People can choose to plant their own trees or plant trees on their behalf. The first trees will be available from March to one of the five regional community hubs with an additional 20 by October next year as part of a scheme run by the Woodland Trust.

It was also announced that discussions on the next plan will begin in early 2022. Create a Welsh national forest.

Lee Waters, Deputy Minister of Climate Change, said: Climate change initiatives.

“Everyone can participate in our successful ambitions to tackle climate change and create Welsh national forests. Therefore, we partner with the Woodland Trust. We are pleased to announce that we are offering a campaign. All households in Wales have the opportunity to plant free trees in Wales.

“This allows Welsh people to further understand and experience the many benefits of trees not only to the environment, but also to their health and well-being.”

He said people who couldn’t participate in the plan could choose to plant free trees on their behalf in places throughout Wales through community hubs and volunteers.

“Tree planting is the only way to help tackle climate change, but it’s a simple and fun way to have the opportunity to see everyone in Wales plant and grow.

“We hope that this project will be open to all types of people living in Wales and will encourage the participation of many individuals and community groups. We hope that people of all backgrounds will be in the Welsh National Forest. I hope to participate in the planting of trees. “
