When a woman was attacked to death by a pack of dogs in a park, she “wasn’t barking, she was just screaming,” an eyewitness said.
The 28-year-old victim tried to repel the animal in an attempt to keep onlookers away, they added.
A terrifying eyewitness daily mail: “It wasn’t barking, it was just screaming. She was being attacked.
“She was trying to get up but there were dogs around her trying to grab her arm and she couldn’t sit down. It was a frenzy.”
“Maybe most of them were still on the lead. They were so tangled around her that she couldn’t stand.
“It was impossible for them to escape, so in a frenzy they just went to what was in front of them.”
Paramedics fought in vain to rescue 28 year old seriously injured Shortly after one of the pets bit another woman she was walking her dog.
Police seized eight animals. None of these animals are forbidden breeds and include the mighty Leonberger and his two Dachshunds. Last night they were kept in a police kennel.
The victim, an unnamed Londoner, took the animal to a popular dog-walking spot in Caterham. Surreyon Thursday.
One of her dogs is believed to have bitten another woman, who was discharged from the hospital after treatment, and then attacked the other women as well.
As she lay dying, two horsemen found her. One person said, “That image haunts me for a long time.”
Police have kept the Gravelly Hill area off-limits while a forensic investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.
One local resident said, “She has too many dogs. You can’t control that number.
“They were in a frenzy, acting like a pack of little wolves, hunting whatever was in their sights.”
Lesley Hoffley, 62, who lives near the attack site, said:
“It’s disturbing to the community and of course heartbroken for whoever this young woman is.”
Richard Bream, who runs near Mardens Kennels, said: Some have 5-6 dogs. I have always believed that this should not happen. ”
Colin Tennant of the Dog and Cat Behavior Association said an “adrenaline rush” among dogs may have caused the aggression.

“A dog walker lost his balance and may have been targeted.
“When the energy goes up in such a situation, pack-to-herd fights occur, and dogs can bite even those who are trying to help.”
He continues: Unless the dog is highly trained, it is not recommended that he walk more than 4 at a time. ”
Police said the dog involved was captured and kept in a kennel while the incident was being investigated.
