On June 17, 10 fire engines and about 70 firefighters scrambled to Stanmore’s Blockley Hill.
Most of the disused two-story hospital building was destroyed, including the roof. There are no reports of injuries.
The London fire brigade said it was called out at 5:05pm and was under control by 7:10pm, but crews remained on the scene overnight to try to completely extinguish the fire.
A 32-meter turntable ladder was used at the scene, and the brigade’s drone team was also present to assist the crew.
During the incident, the area was closed to traffic.
Members from Stanmore, Mill Hill, Kentish Town, Finchley, Paddington and surrounding fire departments joined the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
