Recently selected as SBC’s Racing Sports Book of the Year, Fitzdales dates back to the 1800s and is widely known as the world’s best bookmaker. Just a few months ago, the brand opened a members club in Mayfair, right next to Claridge’s. And following this, their first book was released. A definitive pocket guide to the capital for the most discerning gentlemen in London.
Celebrate the finest in London
Written by Country Life contributor and social historian Martin Williams, this book was designed by Stefano Arat and drawn by New York-based artist Tug Rice. And it’s a celebration of a wonderful London institution that keeps its craftsmanship and excellent service alive. The book arrived just in time for Christmas and is the result of CEO William Woodhams’ long-standing dream. Spoken in a first-person anecdotal style, the fictional character of “William Wolf” is inspired by Will Woodham, his late father Rod Woodham, and writer Martin Williams. It caters to veterans, new arrivals and discerning tourists in London.
Morning, noon, night
The book has three easy-to-reference sections (morning, noon, and night) that contain everything you might need for a good quality of life in the city. It covers more than 100 of the best venues, shops and service providers in London today. “Morning” is intended for tailors, shoe stores, dry cleaning stores, barber shops, bookstores, florists, stationery stores, wine dealers, cafes, and specialty grocery stores. “Noon” is for lunch spots, outfits, shoe stores, hat stores and shops (for special gifts). And “night” covers pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels and nightclubs.
A must-see facility in the world’s most gentlemanly city
William Woodhams, CEO of Fitzdares, said of the launch:
“This is a true love effort and you can’t wait for it to come out. Not only will our guide see your own great taste, but some to taste often when you’re in London. Hope to get your attention to the new but very not-to-be-missed facility. ”
Martin Williams added:
“It was a pleasure to edit, research and create this guide for Fitzdales, with years of direct experience and tips and recommendations from discerning friends, acquaintances and experts. From to Bermondsey, to pies and mashes to fine dining, William Wolf hopes to prove to our readers that London is still the most gentleman’s city in the world today. ”
A guide for William Wolf’s wonderful life in London can be purchased from Fitz Dulles Club Online Shop, The Fitzdares Club, Jeeves of Belgravia, Gentleman’s Journal for £ 14.99. A PDF version of this book will also be available.
