Former Citi Trading Executive has launched a $ 1.5 billion fund focused on investing in crypto infrastructure, blockchain protocols and virtual worlds.
Hivemind Capital Partners invests in cryptocurrency companies, trades digital assets, and features a dedicated “play and earn strategy” in the gaming arena. Cryptographic infrastructure, blockchain protocols, open internet, programmable money, and virtual worlds are all on the agenda of the fund.
The fund is the brainchild of Matt Chan, a former Citi’s head of structured commodities trading and founder of the Sprint Investment Team at the bank.
“We believe blockchain technology is a paradigm shift and still in its infancy. Our mission is to create a cryptographic project that defines visionary entrepreneurs and categories, from start to finish with capital and infrastructure. It’s about providing a structural solution, “says Zhang.
As part of its launch, Hivemind has selected Algorithm, the leading Layer 1 blockchain, as a strategic partner to provide technology capabilities and network ecosystem infrastructure.
