Former Coronation Street star Paula Lane shared her upset after her 4-year-old daughter was told she was “overweight” and unable to play with another child.
The actress, who played Kylie Pratt in the ITV soap opera, went to Twitter yesterday to share her upset experience with her daughter Penny and urged her parents to teach her to be kind to her children.
In commemoration of Mental Health Awareness Week, Call The Midwife’s star wrote:
“I turned my head. Teach the children to be kind.”
Her tweets surprised many of her 233,000 followers, and in return received many replies blaming the child’s cruel comments.
A worried fan replied, “Oh, awesome. I’m sorry to hear this, I hope your daughter is okay. Please send me a hug.”
“I agree with you,” shared by a second person. “We need to teach our children to be kind. Comments also spin my head.”
Another comment: “That’s terrible:-(-NOBODY is too big or too small to play the game, Paula”.
Paula was greeted not only with her daughter Penny, but also with her son Arthur (6 years old)’s mother and actor’s husband Tom Shaw (34 years old).
