“If you get injured or exhausted, they will eat you,” he said.

But Barrow went on to explain that if he was hiding in the reserve, Laundry would have more pressing concerns.

“If he is in the Carlton Reserve, he lives in hell.

“People make a lot of crocodiles and snakes, but the real danger is dehydration.”

His dehydration is exacerbated by lack of access to clean drinking water. Barrow said the recent rains in the reserve have washed tannins from the plants into the water. Tannins are highly concentrated and toxic to humans.

“It can cause loosening of the intestines, which is not good if you are already dehydrated,” he added.

Barrow is not involved in the search for Laundry, but is helping to find a former missing person in the Carlton Reserve. He said he found dead people who had been missing for just three days.

Laundrie’s family reported that Laundrie went on a hike alone on September 11 and went missing three days later when she couldn’t go home.
