H & M signs contract with renewable energy platform

H & M, a retail group, has entered into a long-term partnership with Matrix Renewables, the global renewable energy platform, and has agreed to move the group towards its goal of responding to climate change.

The partnership, signed today, brings H & M one step closer to adopting 100% renewable energy throughout its business, a goal set in the previously announced Sustainability Manifest. He added that he is considering promoting the use of renewable energy with partners and suppliers.

In a statement, Luis Sabaté, President and COO of Matrix Renewables, said, “We are pleased to be able to help the H & M Group reach its sustainability goals. Work closely with the Fashion Group as this journey progresses. I’m looking forward to it. ”

“This initiative is in line with our belief that the development, construction and operation of cost-effective clean energy projects can drive economic growth while protecting the environment.”

This announcement follows many sustainable initiatives by fast fashion retailers, including the introduction of eco-friendly packaging for delivery and recycled apparel collections, such as H & M’s 100% recycled denim line.
