Second man charged with murder of Trey Daly by Hackney Wick

Mawien Mawien, 38, of Portland Close, Romford, was charged with murder, Section 18 injury to another man, and possession of a knife.

he is going to appear in Highbury Magistrate’s Court Friday, February 24th.

The victim, from Bromley, south London, was fatally stabbed near the Color Factory nightclub in the early hours of Saturday 11 February.

Mr Daley and a second injured man, a 24-year-old man, arrived at an East London hospital at around 4:30am with stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of doctors, his life could not be saved. A subsequent autopsy determined the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.

Another injured man was discharged later the same day.

Another defendant, Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35, was previously charged with murder and possession of an assault weapon.

He appeared before Willesden Magistrate’s Court on 14 February and was detained.

A trial was held at the Old Bailey on April 2, 2024.

The 20-year-old man, who was arrested on February 18 on suspicion of murder, was released on bail in May.
