In the updated statement, the show said: “I’m a celebrity because of technical problems caused by extreme weather in the area … get me out of here this weekend (Saturday and Sunday)!
“I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!” Will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night on the ITV schedule with an editorial show (Voice of Ant & Dec) featuring the best moments of the previous series.
“We removed the celebrity from the castle while the production base was restored and up and running after a technical problem due to the storm. #ImACeleb.”
The Friday show had to be pre-recorded due to celebrity contestants and host Ant and December safety concerns.
Ant and Dec also posted news on their Instagram page while explaining the situation in a video, The Mirror reports.
December states: “You’ve heard that the wind and Storm Awen need to record the show a little earlier tonight. It’s terrible. It’s really windy. I can hear the wind rattling now. You have to get it done and get out of here.
“It’s a bit dangerous to have a live show because everyone is afraid that the satellite will go down because it gets worse later, so I need to record tonight. This is my first time.” I have had it. “
Many have expressed fear that this could further confuse the show. The show has already seen Richard Madley quit after being taken to the hospital early Thursday morning.
Richard said in a statement that he was “absolutely fine”, but the trip to A & E meant he “resulted in breaking the Covid bubble” and couldn’t return to the competition. You can read more about this here..
Later, it was reported that three more athletes were receiving treatment that raised concerns. There may be more departures from the show.
Regarding tonight’s announcement, one viewer said, “OK! Certainly the show is over this year! Especially with this new variant, they can’t be undone now.”
Another added, “I hope the bubble isn’t broken … otherwise it’s over.”
And a third party said, “As long as everyone is safe, I hope everything will be up and running again soon.”
