Gary Batten, a longtime Cornwall-based Nisa partner, completed a repair of the St. Stephen store in January of this year and invested the profits gained during the Covid crisis in his business.
He states: “We wanted to keep our stores profitable and ready for the future.” We increased the food take-out area by about 50%, expanded the chiller operation by the same amount, and co-op across all categories. He said Cornish store sales are increasing weekly after repairs, with a fundamental tendency for weekly sales to increase by about 15%.
