Married at First Sight’s George Roberts married a stranger ‘despite allegations of abusive behavior’

E4’s Married at First Sight UK star was able to marry a stranger on TV.

George Roberts, 40, married ex-British April Banbury after they first met at the altar.

But three women who had affairs with Mr Roberts said they were horrified by Mr Roberts’ appearance on the show.

Each said they had filed separate complaints with police about Roberts, claiming they were “love bombed” before their relationship was “forced.”

All three expressed their concerns to Channel 4 after seeing Mr. Roberts in the show’s trailer.

They said they flagged his “abusive, obsessive” and “manipulative” behavior towards women.

A source close to the show said he was unaware of the allegations against Roberts before he married Banbury on the TV show.

It’s not clear if filming for the show, including the wedding, ended when the woman raised the issue on Channel 4.

“I am so shocked to see him being given the stage for a TV show. I sent a message to Married at First Sight and they said I had called the police on him,” he said. One ex-girlfriend said, Sun.

“They asked for additional information that I provided, but they couldn’t hear anything more.”

A second former partner, who reached out directly to All4, E4 and Married At First Sight, said Roberts was “a known emotional and mental abuser.”

A third ex said he sent “everything” about Roberts’ abuse allegations to the Channel 4 team before being told they would investigate.

All three women described being “love bombed” by Roberts. This is the behavior that sees people bathing in affection before the relationship becomes “forced and controlling.”

Roberts, a divorced father of four, married Banbury on the show before honeymooning in the Caribbean.

Over the weekend, Banbury explained the “trauma” from her experience on Instagram, suggesting the relationship was over.

“The trauma that came from this show made me re-evaluate things,” she wrote.

“Since then, I’ve been seeing a therapist.”

She told The Sun that her head was “twirling” after hearing about the allegations.

Channel 4 told MailOnline:

“Allegations of this nature are taken very seriously by Channel 4.”

A spokesperson for Roberts told The Sun newspaper that the TV star denied the allegations and was “extremely upset”, adding:[He] We do not tolerate abuse or behave in such a manner.

“These allegations were not duly brought to his attention, investigated by the police, or taken up further because they are simply not true,” they added.
