Jane McDonald announces a new television series exploring her hometown of Yorkshire. Channel 5 announced.

Born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, the singer revisits where she grew up and shares her story in Yorkshire at Shaw Jane McDonald.

The six-part documentary series will also cover county landscapes, archaeological sites and heritage, and will air on Channel 5 in 2022.

McDonald’s, 58, said: “I’m very excited about the news finally coming out. I can’t wait for the viewers to see the series next year.”

The series will be executive produced by Mark Powell, who previously produced the presenter’s popular show, Cruising with Jane McDonald and Holiday with Jane McDonald.

Former Loose Women presenter McDonald’s announced in April that her long-term partner Eddie Ross died at the age of 67 after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

According to a statement shared on her Twitter, Rothe, best known as a member of the 1960s band The Searchers, has been fighting the disease for the last few months of his life.

McDonald’s and Ross first dated a teenager and engaged in 2008, almost 30 years after a chance encounter on the Dis Morning set, before rekindling romance.
