Lewis Hamilton claims that his relationship with Max Verstappen is “unchanged” with other years, despite being involved in a fierce tug of war over the lead of this season’s F1 World Championship.
Fans have been dealt with in a fierce battle between two world-class drivers, and Hamilton aims to be the most decorated driver in F1 history, surpassing Michael Schumacher in the eighth world title.
Meanwhile, Verstappen is aiming for his first victory alongside Red Bull, and is trying to win the team’s first championship since Sebastian Vettel won the championship in 2013.
Still, Verstappen was hospitalized after a crash at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, and Hamilton praised Hello for saving his life at the Italian Grand Prix.
The protagonists of each title were penalized heavily, Hamilton handed a 10-second time penalty for a crash at Silverstone, and Verstappen received a grid drop in third place for causing a collision at Monza. But there is a penalty Hamilton believes his relationship with him at the age of 24 hasn’t changed.
“There’s not much to say,” Hamilton said at a press conference prior to the US Grand Prix. “I think some drivers are more hung than other drivers because of limited communication.
“I don’t say I’m particularly closely associated with anyone here.”
Especially when it comes to his main title rival Verstappen, Hamilton hasn’t changed anything inside or outside the paddock, admitting that both drivers live in Monaco.
