Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 24H2 Preview ISO Images for Clean Installation
Today is a busy day for Windows Insiders. Shortly after releasing a new Canary build, Microsoft pushed fresh updates for testing in the Beta and Release Preview Channels for both Windows 10 and 11. To help users get the upcoming feature update faster, Microsoft also updated its official Windows Insider ISO images to version 26100.1150, which includes the latest security updates from July’s Patch Tuesday.
Windows 11 build 26100.1150 is available for both x86 and ARM64 architectures. The x86 version is for Intel or AMD-based computers, while the ARM64 version is for devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon or Microsoft SQ processors (including Macs with Apple Silicon chips).
You can download the Windows 11 build 26100.1150 x86 ISO here, and VHDX images for ARM-based devices are available here. Remember that these Windows 11 preview images still require activation with a genuine license key of a matching SKU. The only official Windows images that do not require activation are Microsoft’s official virtual machines, known as the Windows Developer Environment, which you can get here. However, note that these virtual machines will expire soon, with a timebomb set for July 15, and Microsoft will remove some of them due to ongoing technical issues.
It’s worth noting that Windows 11 version 24H2 is already available to some users. Customers with Copilot+ PCs (powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processors) are now running 24H2. Those with Intel or AMD-based computers will receive the update in a few months, most likely in September or October. As the release of Windows 11 24H2 approaches, Microsoft is preparing to end support for Windows 11 versions 21H2 and 22H2, which will stop receiving updates in less than 90 days.
