After opening bowling, Offspinner recorded the highest number in his career, 2-17, and continued bowling with all his full assignments.

England is also outstanding in this area, sticking to some good catches as the West Indies were limited to a total of only 55 innings for the first time.

It was a combination of England’s field brilliance and some very poor batting by the West Indies, which ultimately gave England a stressful victory.

England picked up four wickets in power play and simply refused to let go of the remaining innings.

Woakes started the procession and caught Evin Lewis mid-off for just 6 minutes in 2 seconds.

Moen followed it up with an outstanding ticket gate maiden, picking it up after Lendl Simmons pierced Liam Livingstone deep in.

After that, Simron Hetomier became Moen’s second and last victim, and was captured by Morgan with only nine people.

Mills has played in the first competitive game in England since 2017, claiming Chris Gale’s ticket gates and marking his return to the international arena.

David Malang performed well in the mid-wicket, sending Gale packing 13 and the West Indies finished power play 31-4.

Dwayne Bravo was promoted to 5th place and faced the ball in power play for the first time since January 2018.

However, this strategy did not work in the West Indies. Bravo also scored a single digit and Johnny Bainesu was caught in Jordan bowling for five minutes.

Mills then picked up a second wicket and England’s sixth wicket, captured Nicholas Pooran by one of Jos Buttler, and sent off the West Indies 42-6 with just nine overs.

Rashid, who had been held back until the 11th, immediately bowled Andre Russell at the ducks in Googly, creating an excellent first over showing off all his skills.

The leg spinner pierced deep into both Kieron Pollard and Orb de McCoy and followed it up with two wickets on the second over.

The 11th Ravi Rampaul single was greeted with ironic cheers from the crowd at Dubai Stadium as he saw the West Indies dragging to 50.

However, he was bowled with Rashid’s three overs, making him the last wicket to fall as Rashid ended up with a career-high number of just 2.2 overs to 4-2.

In response, England won the dominant victory by knocking off the run with just 8.2 overs, despite Jason Roy, Beastow, Moen and Livingston all falling cheaply.

Impressed by the West Indies ball, Horsein picked up 2-24 and seized a spectacular catch and bowling opportunity to dismiss Livingston.

But in the end, the West Indies simply didn’t put enough runs on the board, and Butler and Morgan saw England on the line with plenty of time to spare.

It’s a near-perfect start to the tournament for Morgan boys, and if semi-final qualifying drops to a net run rate, the emphatic nature of their victory could be key later in the tournament.
