Newham man jailed after discovering £2m worth of cocaine and heroin

Mamun Mia, 38, from Newham, was sentenced to eight years and three months in prison at Snaresbruck Crown Court on November 17.

He previously admitted two charges of supplying cocaine and heroin.

A search warrant was executed at an address in Newham in June 2023, where police discovered 20kg of cocaine and heroin.

The total market value of the substance was estimated at approximately £2 million.

DI Glen Butler said: ‘This was a significant seizure of class A drugs and resulted in a lengthy prison sentence for Mia.

“Drugs are often the driving force behind violent crime and contribute to the rise in acquisitive crime.

“The Metropolitan Museum of Art is committed to fighting those who control drug markets and protecting communities that suffer the consequences of drug-related crimes.”
