PIPS has partnered with Ardoyne Youth Club to offer free counseling on demand from young people

The North Belfast Youth Club will benefit from free counseling services for young members.

Ardoyne Youth Club has partnered with PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland (PIPS Charity) to meet the demand for services that young people can use at the right time and place.

The PIPS service is currently available in clubs every Thursday night from 8 pm to 11 pm and is specially designed based on the concept of services available to young people in a social environment. In a safe and comfortable environment they are familiar with.

Stephen Konrad of Ardoyne Youth Club said: Ardoyne community I am blessed to have a great community partner. This new partnership with PIPS Charity is exciting and of great value to our community and its future. We also want to reach out to parents, family, peers and other influences in youth life to ensure that youth are not alone when needed.

“John has a great counselor who works with AYC every Thursday night.”

Renée Quinn, Executive Director of PIPS Charity, said:

“Therefore, we are pleased to be able to provide PIPS quality services directly to the local community because we believe that it will better meet the needs of the local community. This will normalize the mental health conversation and normalize it. You can see that we are serious about bringing good mental health to the community.

“Good mental health is for everyone and needs to be accessible to everyone at the time and place they work for them. Parents as if the children were mentally ill. Mental disorders need to be normalized so that they can be told that if they have an upset stomach or someone is recovering, as with any other type of recovery, people will give them health. I will send you a card.

“This new service is based on the long-standing belief of PIPS charity, rather than asking for a pause to give people access to mental health support when they are at stake or when they need it. Open door walk-in service is important. Mental health should be equally respected and given the same priorities, as I don’t ask people with broken arms to wait for care, which is me. That’s why we operate in our own way.

“We want to help young people in the time and place they work for them. This exciting collaboration with Ardoyne Youth Club is our philosophy of accessing quality care with minimal barriers. I think it suits you well. “

Renée added that the new venture with Ardoyne Club also complements working with children and adolescents.

“Our child and adolescent counselor service provides counseling for children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and 18,” she added.

“In addition to these support services, children, adolescents and adults can explore emotions, improve self-esteem, manage addiction, relieve stress, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and deal with the body. There are two art therapists on the scene to help. Illness and disability. “
