Police say both the driver of the van crashed in Cardiff and the driver during the shoot failed Drug Wipes.

South Wales police say the black Volkswagenban driver who crashed into a traffic bollard on City Road in Cardiff and another driver who photographed the arrested both failed the Drug Wipe test.

The officer also arrested the second person.

The incident was detailed on Friday night at 11:52 pm on Cardiff’s official Twitter account @SWP_Roads, South Wales Police, with photos of the accident site.

“Incident 520 City Road, @SWPCardiff One vehicle RTC.Driver failed @DrugWipeUK So # Arrest..

“While at the scene, another driver decided to film us, so we were stopped. @DrugWipeUK Administration.Also positive results-also # Arrest# 2 for1# Team2East For 4835/5295, ^ 5825. ”

The Ministry of Justice reported that prior to the blockade of Coivd-19 in 2020, driving charges increased by 20% in 2019, exceeding certain regulated drug use restrictions in England and Wales.

Drug driving prosecutions increased from 9,687 in 2018 to 11,614 in 2019, while the corresponding numbers for drunk driving were 33,634 and 34,713, representing a 3% increase.
