Postal workers prepare for Black Friday frenzy

Postal workers at one of Royal Mail’s largest distribution sites are preparing for Black Friday orders ahead of a major sales frenzy.

Staff are at the forefront as UK shoppers are expected to spend around £ 10 billion on transactions this weekend.

Discounted technology, clothing and furniture are among the items that are prepared for shipping nationwide.

Photos in the Royal Mail postal center in Greenford, western London, show that tens of thousands of parcels are being processed.

This site uses a huge sorter that sorts each item by zip code and sorts it into piles suitable for posting.

Site staff are tasked with ensuring the smooth execution of operations to ensure that Black Friday orders arrive at the correct address on time.

According to a Statistica study, UK shoppers spend a record £ 9.4bn this Black Friday weekend, with nearly two-thirds of their purchases going online.

Overall, Black Friday sales are projected to increase by 18% compared to last year.

Royal Mail advertises seasonal mail separation vacancies on Greenford’s site, where staff are paid £ 13.45 per hour during the day and £ 15.75 per hour at night.

Employment surges precede Christmas, the busiest time in the post office, and workers at the London site can process over one million parcels and letters daily.
