Police looking for driver after car rammed group of pedestrians in north London6 injured.
At 7:13 pm today, emergency services were called following reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian near the intersection with Salisbury Road in Harringay.
Officers were present along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade.
Six pedestrians were injured. Four people were taken to hospital and two were treated at the scene. None of the pedestrians are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
CCTV footage shows people lying injured shortly after tonight’s clashes in Haringay, north London, as bystanders rushed to their aid.
The black 4×4 had a dent and appeared to have been kicked by a bystander before fleeing the scene.
Footage captured from the scene appeared to show a black 4×4 dashing from the scene as passers-by ran to help the injured.
One kicked a fleeing car, another screamed.
Haringay Council leader Cllr Peray Ahmet wrote on Twitter that he was “disgusted” with drivers being kicked out of the scene.
A Met spokesman said: “The vehicle did not stop at the scene and officers are working to track down the driver.
“Emergency services remain on site and roads are closed.
“This incident is being treated as a road accident. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances.
“If you have any information that would be useful for the investigation, please call 101, citing CAD 5189/22 Jan.”
