Havering’s favourite restaurants nominated by readers

More than 80 readers responded after being asked what their favourite restaurant was in Havering, and a range of eateries have been suggested.

There were too many to choose from so we have selected seven of the most popular nominations and included them below.

Radhuni in Gidea Park

Radhuni is an Indian restaurant and takeaway on Main Road in Romford.

It received two nominations from readers and has garnered mainly positive reviews on reviewing website TripAdvisor.

The restaurant was named restaurant of the year 2022 under the British Bengal Curry Awards, according to its website.

Ciao Bella in Romford

Ciao Bella on South Street received four nominations and is known for affordable Italian cuisine.

Vic, a TripAdvisor reviewer, said the food was fresh, delicious and the service excellent at the chain’s Romford branch.

Umberto’s Italian in Hornchurch

Another Italian spot, Umberto’s received three nominations and operates from a picturesque building in Hornchurch.

It offers fresh fish and has been praised by customers, including Natasha on TripAdvisor, who said it offered excellent Siclian food.

Tandoori Lounge in Hornchurch 

The High Street Indian restaurant offers a range of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as traditional tandoori.

It provides a takeaway service as well as sit-down dining.

Blue Orchid in Romford

Chinese restaurant Blue Orchid has an unassuming shopfront but high quality food, according to reviewers.

Blue Orchid received seven nominations, very close to coming joint first with two other eateries that we have named below.

It is a long-running family establishment, according to reviewing website Restaurant Guru.

The Yummy Greek in Romford & Marleys in Hornchurch

Readers were split over the top nominees, with The Yummy Greek on South Street, Romford, and Marleys Brasserie and Lounge in Hornchurch garnering eight votes a piece.

The Yummy Greeks’s owners said: “It’s thanks to our customers for being so loyal and coming back, its amazing.”

Marleys Brasserie, which serves Mediterranean and Italian food, has received many positive TripAdvisor reviews out of 86 contributions.
