Revolut blushes more after the boss accidentally presses the phone button

Revolut Boss Accidentally Pressed Wrong Phone Button, Launched Investigation, More Red Faces

Lebold said he was investigating a “thorough” blunder in which a former UK boss mistakenly texted a customer that he was “waiting in the garden with a shotgun”.

James Radford, who left Britain’s most valuable fintech firm last month for unrelated reasons, accidentally sent a message to his personal mobile phone after receiving several complaints.

Furious customers sent Radford a flood of text messages and voicemails after his Revolut Business account was frozen, The Telegraph first reported.

The £26bn financial services group has faced some setbacks in its two-year battle for a UK banking license.

Radford, head of Revolut NewCo UK and a key figure in the platform’s licensing battle, told someone else, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll be sitting in my garden with my shotgun and waiting for him.’ I was going to send a text message.

This is understood to be about the suggestion that the person might approach Radford directly.

A spokeswoman for Revolt said it “takes the allegations seriously and is investigating them thoroughly.”
