Rotherham United signs a three-year contract with Hamilton Academia’s Hakim Odfin

Rotherham United has completed the signature of Hakim Odfin from Hamilton Academia.

This summer, the 23-year-old was of great interest, but he moved to the English League One Side.

It is understood that Axies will receive a six-digit fee for Odfin, who signed the contract extension last season.

The former Tottenham youth was Hamilton’s revelation last season, despite being demoted from the Premiership after Brian Rice placed him as a defensive midfielder.

Odfin said of his move to Millers: end.

“I had a discussion with the lighting technicians and coach staff before joining. They showed that they wanted me here and they showed their intentions. That made a lot of sense to me.

“I’m busy with that move. Not only is I back in the England League, but I’m close to my hometown. I can’t wait to get started.

“I can play in the lightback, centerback and midfield. I played and enjoyed the central defensive midfield for most of last season.

“Where the gaffer wants to put me, I’m going to give 100%, and that’s the main thing.”
