St Mirren “to give the team something to do” and it could be Ross County, Jim Goodwin argues

St Mirren have the opportunity to defeat them in Paisley tomorrow night, 9 points away from the bottom Ross County, to mitigate the risk of being involved in a relegation battle if they play six games without a win.

Buddy scored only four times during the sequence, but made (and wasted) a series of openings during those games, and Goodwin was the wrong end of someone hiding from them right away. There is no doubt that you are in.

“I think so,” he said. “It sounds like the record was broken after the match. It would have been easy to come out on Saturday and say it was trash, and Hearts deserves it, but it wasn’t.

“Hearts fans were at the top in 45 minutes, so they kicked the team out of the park in half-time. We were a better team, but everything I’m saying is working. We Should take advantage of these situations.

“When we are at the top, we need to reach that goal, or some goals. It will really calm everyone. The longer the Saturday match, the better the quality they have. Hearts are more likely to participate in it.

“But I really feel that someone is going to do something from us someday. I saw Ross County hitting Dundee 5-0 a few weeks ago, but someone I think I’m at the end of one of us. Hopefully Wednesday. But if we didn’t play well and didn’t create a chance, I would be more worried. Players and myself I would like to ask a serious question.

“You definitely want to open the gap above the bottom team, but more importantly, you want to close the gap above us.”
