Small ceramic gifts bring Christmas cheer and ‘heartwarming’ reactions online

A graphic designer who turned her love of pottery into a unique way to make Christmas gifts for co-workers says the reaction from people online has been “very heartwarming.”

Veronica McQuade, 31, from Central Londontold PA News Agency that a pottery class and “really little lumps of clay” at home sparked the idea of ​​making miniature objects to represent colleagues, friends and family.

“I am taking [ceramics] It was a class once a week for a little over a year, but it was a lot of fun,” she said.

“I really wanted to make something like a little piece of pottery. I had this little hunk of clay at home and I thought at the last minute, ‘What if we make everyone a little object instead of a Christmas card?’ ”

She cites Eleanor Bostrom and Joey Rutherford as the inspiration behind the idea, who “also make adorable clay objects”.

“Before I started making miniatures, my pottery class was known for making giant mugs with handles big enough to fit your hand in,” she said.
