As 2021 comes to a close, it’s time to start thinking about new games for 2022 and beyond. There are a number of confirmed releases for next year, with many of them having a less-than-ideal release window than any of us gamers would like. However, it will be a terrific year for video game releases. This list of upcoming games isn’t comprehensive, but it does highlight some of the most anticipated releases in the next few years, especially some pillars that regulate certain topics in gaming such as online bingo and online casino.
New Games On The Horizon
So, start preparing your wishlist, and don’t forget to look at all of the upcoming Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, new PC, and PlayStation 5 titles. Yes, everything you’ve been looking for is right here! In 2022 and beyond, every platform will be available. The uncertain future is to blame for the unpredictable release timeline.
ST.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl
You’ll be exploring the massive Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in the highly anticipated sequel to the first title, ST.A.L.K.E.R. It’s significantly more difficult to survive in the zone now than it was before, especially since the second nuclear plant meltdown. There are savage mutants, dangerous anomalies, and feuding gangs to cope with, as well as a vast power at the center of the zone that might offer an even larger threat. You can expect this title at the end of April, so get your gear ready now.
Saints Row
The Saints Row franchise is making a comeback in the guise of a full relaunch. With a small group of friends that are just starting, you’ll be building the Saints from the ground up. Your actions will mold the newly formed gang, and you’ll be able to make your mark on the fictional city of Santo Ileso by deciding what type of criminal monarch you want to be. Is it possible that narcotics are being smuggled? It’s absolutely your decision. This is the Saints’ origin story, and you get to tell it as you want. The best thing is that it’s set to be out in August of next year!
Gotham Knights
WB Games Montreal is working on a new Batman game, but there’s a catch: Batman has been dead for a long time. According to the studio, the Gotham Knights will defend the “most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet,” with unique powers and skill trees available for each of the four Knights-Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl. Expect a plethora of DC villains to try to take control of Gotham in Batman’s absence, meaning the Gotham Knights will have their hands full. However, you’ll have plenty of tricks up your sleeve, with combat looking very Batman: Arkham-esque.
Open Roads
Unfortunately, Open Roads has yet another unnamed release date. However, it is expected in 2022. Prepare for a road trip with Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, as they set out to discover the secrets of their family. The mother-daughter duo travels to ancient, abandoned family estates to learn more about their family history after uncovering notes and letters stowed away in the attic of their home. Open Roads explores Tess and Opal’s relationship through revisiting memories from each home and taking them on “a trip into the past they’ll never forget.” Keri Russel and Kaitlyn Dever provide the voices for this noteworthy upcoming adventure from Gone Home and Tacoma creator Fullbright.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
You’ll be following Amicia, the game’s protagonist, and her younger brother, Hugo, two people who must do all it takes to live in the game’s harsher sequel environment. Rats will continue to be a major issue and attraction of the series, but there is more to worry about than a literal sea of rats. There are genuine evils that afflict the environment.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the long-awaited Avatar game, was finally showcased at E3 2021, and Massive Entertainment is now working on it (in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney). The game will be a unique solo adventure in which you play as a Na’vi and go over Pandora’s Western Frontier, which has never been visited before. This is a first-person action-adventure game in which you battle the RDA’s powerful forces in a living and responsive world. Michael Bay’s explosive magic will be available on all platforms at long last, with an expected release date some time in 2022.

To begin with, the future is always full of surprises, and you can always expect something unexpected to steal your heart! The year 2022 will be significant in the game industry. Even if there weren’t so many great games coming out next year, the fact that three different Game of the Year winners will get sequels and possibly face off in a grand finale is enough of an incentive.
