New 3rd generation Formula E The car is the fastest electric racer ever, with new aerodynamic upgrades, improved power efficiency and a top speed of over 200mph.
Revealed in Monaco by the FIA, the global governing body for motorsport, SparkGen 3 features a significantly modified exterior design.
We will be racing for the first time in the 9th Formula E World Championship season, which begins at the end of this year.
Specially tuned for racing on street circuits, the FIA states that it represents “the pinnacle of high performance, efficiency and sustainability.”
Several upgrades have been made to the current Gen2 Evo racer. The new motor setup produces 470bhp, but the top speed is said to be 200mph north.
It was also the first formula car to have separate powertrains on the front and rear, with a reproduction capacity of 600kW, more than double that of current cars.
With the addition of the front motor, hydraulic brakes are no longer required at the rear.
Gen3 also benefits from ultra-fast charging, which allows the battery to be refilled at a speed of 600kW during the race.
Sustainability has also been enhanced. Batteries are recycled and reused when they are no longer needed. Linen and recycled carbon fiber, on the other hand, make up the majority of the car body and reduce carbon dioxide emissions from cars by more than 10%.
On the other hand, about 26% of each tire is composed of natural rubber and recycled fiber.
