The Surrey-Based Independent Stars in ‘Pimp My Ride’ Reboot – CAT Magazine

Wrench Studios, a performance tuning center and body shop, will be featured on the new season of MTV’s “Pimp My Ride.”

The new season will be hosted by British rapper Lady Lesure

Based in Ashford, Surrey, the workshop extensively customizes cars for many viewers, including a 1960s Beetle and an early 1990s Mitsubishi GTO. Sponsored by eBay Motors, the production is made possible, and the season will air on his YouTube channel on MTV starting August 19th. The series will be hosted by British rapper Lady Leshurr.

Wrench Studios co-founder Hamid Iqbal said: “We grew up watching Pimp My RideWorking on our own cars in the driveway is the reason we started doing custom work and mods. Like many people, I use eBay to source parts, so it was a natural fit for me to join the new series. It’s been 15 years since it last aired, and we’ll try to live up to expectations.

Best known for its original California-set version hosted by rapper Xzibit from 2004 to 2007, the show has since seen a number of regional spin-offs. This included a British and Irish version hosted by controversial DJ Tim Westwood.
