Government launches legal proceedings against companies at center of PPE supply line | Political News

The government has filed a civil suit against a company at the center of a dispute over the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the pandemic.

A Department of Health and Human Services (DHSC) spokesperson said, “We are pleased to announce that we have commenced legal proceedings in the High Court against PPE Medpro Limited for breach of contract regarding the gowns delivered under the contract dated June 26, 2020. I can confirm.

“We do not comment on matters that are the subject of ongoing legal proceedings.”

PPE Medpro said the lawsuit over the supply of sterile gowns was “strongly defended” and accused DHSC of making “cynical attempts to recoup money from suppliers” which it acted in good faith.

In a statement, “PPE Medpro certifies to the court that it delivered our gowns to the correct specifications, on time and at a very competitive price.

“This lawsuit also demonstrates DHSC’s utter inability to correctly procure and designate PPE during the emergency procurement period. This is the real legacy of the lawsuit and can be seen by all.” It will be played out in public.”
