She had flown 3,000 miles across the Atlantic to help celebrate her friend’s wedding.
And, after the long-haul flight to Scotland and a much shorter taxi ride across Glasgow, Arti Mala made it to the ceremony – only to realise it was the wrong one.
The moment when Ms. Mala, from Washington DC, noticed that the couple being married were not the ones she expected was captured on camera.
She had travelled from her home to Glasgow on Saturday to attend the wedding of her friend Gaurav.
However, upon arriving at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, she soon discovered her mistake when two complete strangers named Caitlin and Stephen exchanged vows.

Meanwhile, her friend was getting married at the nearby Pollokshields Burgh Hall roughly a mile away in the city’s Maxwell Park.
Video footage shows Ms. Mala looking mortified as she stares at the camera.

Ms Mala later said: ‘Finally caught an Uber to the right wedding, missed the speeches, though.’

Ms Mala later discovered the error had occurred when she was ordering an Uber to take her from her Airbnb in the city to the wedding.
She had set the destination without realising there were two venues with similar names.
Luckily, the real one was just a six-minute drive away – meaning that after sharing a chuckle with the couple whose wedding she’d inadvertently gatecrashed, she was able to order another Uber which took her the correct ceremony.
Ms Mala took to social media to share the footage on Monday, writing: ‘Congratulations, Caitlin and Stephen. Thanks for being such good sports and inviting me in for a drink.’
The video has received more than 34,200 likes and dozens of comments from people left in stitches by her slip-up.
