The largest winner of the session was International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (LON :), which closed at 142.34, up 8.08% (10.64 points). Carnival PLC (LON :) rose 6.56% or 79.2 points to finish at 1286.8, while Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON :) rose 5.93% or 595.0 points to 10625.0.
The biggest loser was Russia’s Sberbank (LON :), which fell 4.64% or 0.80 points at 16.43 in the second half of the deal. Ocado Group PLC (LON :) fell 2.74% or 44.50 points to close at 1582.00, and Bank VTB PAO DRC (LON :) fell 2.21% or 0.028 points to 1.240.
On the London Stock Exchange, rising stocks surpassed falling stocks from 1251 to 742, with 459 closing flat.
In commodity trading, February gold futures fell 0.26% (4.60) to $ 1799.30 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, January crude oil rose 3.95% (2.62) to $ 68.88 a barrel, while Brent crude oil in February rose 3.68% (2.57) to $ 72.45 a barrel.
GBP / USD was up 0.16% to 1.3253, while EUR / GBP was down 0.46% to 0.8509.
USD index futures rose 0.25% to 96.350.
