Crazy Golf in the West End

Swingers West End club is centrally located close to Oxford Circus, making it convenient for locals and Valentine’s Day visitors. Situated in the former BHS department store, it has a surprisingly spacious and quirky interior. Accommodating up to 600 people and wheelchair accessible, there are two crazy golf courses, four cocktail bars and four street food vendors. The adult-only venue has no dress code, so keeping it casual or dressing up are both fine. Patrons are not obliged to play crazy golf and welcome to enjoy just the food and drink if desired.

Couples can expect a fun 1920s seaside vibe and can choose from the HelterSkelter course or the Big Wheel course. Both nine-hole courseshave plenty of jumps, moving obstacles and loop-the-loops to keep things fun and competitive. The best is saved for last with the ninth holes incorporating the helterskelteror big wheel.

Crazy Golf in the City

Swingers City club is adjacent to and almost directly underneath the Gherkin in the heart of London’s business district. A few minutes away from Liverpool Street and Bank, it is ideally located for couples celebrating Valentine’s Day after work. Beneath the streets in a former Second World War bunker is the funky destination, complete with clubhouse, two crazy golf courses, five cocktail bars and three street food vendors. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has space for 500 people. Like the West End club, there is no dress code and couples can just come to enjoy drinks or a meal if they prefer not to play.

The theme in Swingers City is 1920s English countryside and there is a Lighthouse course and a Windmill Course. The two nine-hole courses are packed full of bridges, inclines and other fun challenges that keep the conversation – and laughs – flowing.

Visiting Swingers

Walk-up tickets are available and there is cheaper pricing during off-peak hours, which are weekdays before 5 pm. There are also package deals available for advance bookings that include drinks, food and reserved seating. Swingers West End is open every Tuesday to Sunday and closes quite late, staying open until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights and a little earlier during the rest of the week.

Crazy golf on Valentine’s Day

For popular dates like Valentine’s Day, it is advisable to make an online booking in advance. Making a booking involves choosing a 90-minute time slot, and players need to arrive fifteen minutes before that time slot begins. On arrival, a tee-off time is allocated which will fall within the 90-minute time slot. A round of crazy golf takes around 30 to 40 minutes, but there is no time limit on the game or the venue itself.

Most pizzas are vegetarian or vegan, with no compromise on flavour. Options include the ‘Sergeant Peperonata’ with sweet chargrilled peppers, and the fiery ‘Jalapeño Popper’ with house-made jalapesto. There are sides and grissini breadsticks for dessert.

For those wanting to discover the best of Mexican cuisine, Breddos is perfect. Finger-licking tacos include the ‘Baja Fish’ with tempura cod, lime, spicy salsa and cool mayo. There are also burritos and a great range of sides like ‘Spiced Chicharron’ with puffed pork cracklings and the moreish ‘Beef Short Rib Nachos’, smothered in cheese sauce, sour cream and chipotle salsa.

Sweet treats are ideal on Valentine’s Day, and Crosstown doesn’t disappoint. Couples can spoil themselves with fresh doughnuts, gelato and shakes. Those on double dates or in bigger groups can try the sharing platters of salted caramel truffles or cookies.

Cocktail Bars at Swingers

At Swingers West End there are four cocktail bars boasting an excellent selection of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and vegan cocktails, some of which are golf-themed. Couples can kick things off with a ‘Sex on the Green’ shot of orange vodka, passionfruit, lime and blue curaçao. For a longer drink, there’s ‘Fairway to Heaven’ with pink gin and apricot brandy. There are many more contemporary and classic cocktails, and the expert mixologists are on hand to advise.

The bars aren’t just for cocktails, and there is a good range of beer, spirits and soft drinks on offer. For couples getting a bit parched while playing, drinks can be brought to them by a caddie.
