Carly Simon honors late sisters Lucy and Joanna’s ‘incredible life’ who died of cancer just one day later
Carly Simon paid tribute to her sisters Lucy and Joanna, who passed away just one day after cancer earlier this week.
The You’re So Vain singer-songwriter released a statement people About the deaths of Joanna, 85, and Lucy, 82.
“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Joanna and Lucy Simon. Their loss will be long and unforgettable,” she said in a statement.

She continued, “What a sad day today is, it is impossible to mourn them without celebrating their incredible life. We are three sisters who take turns doing the course. A renowned Broadway composer, Lucy was nominated for a Tony Award for her work on the musical The Secret Garden. She also performed in a folk group with Curly.
Carly’s sister also won a Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children for her album In Harmony. She won another Grammy in the same category just two years after her.

Joanna, on the other hand, was an opera singer. During her time as an opera singer, she performed in various shows.
After retiring from acting in the early 1990s, she took on a role as the arts correspondent for the PBS show MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour.
She won an Emmy for her report on bipolar disorder and creativity.
The three sisters also had a brother named Peter who died in 2018 at the age of 71.

She has two children. She’s Sally, 48, and she’s Ben, 45.
Curly will be officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November, along with Dolly Parton, Eminem, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie and the Eurythmics.
