Emergency search for man as police release CCTV of suspect after woman ‘raped on beach’
COPS has released CCTV images of a man who wants to speak in connection with a rape investigation.
The victim told police she was raped on a beach in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
The attack reportedly took place on October 23, and last night police released images of the man that they hope will help in the investigation.
They also issued a description of the man.
The alleged attack apparently took place near a bandstand.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Detectives are seeking witnesses and information following a rape on the Eastbourne seafront.
“The incident occurred early in the morning of October 23rd on a beach near the Eastbourne Bandstand in the Grand Parade. A young woman is being assisted by specially trained police officers after the incident.
“Now officers are appealing publicly and want to track down a man who can help them with their investigation. He is described as a white male, believed to be in his 20s, wearing a dark hooded top. increase.”
Detective Barry Chandler said: “While this is an active investigation, we believe this is an isolated case.
“Understanding the impact of this on the community, there will be an increase in high-visibility patrols in the area to reassure local residents.
“Anyone who was in the area around midnight or shortly after, or who has information that could help us, is asked to contact us.
