Just before 9:30 am today (June 7), the police were summoned after receiving a report of a motorcycle-car collision.
The man on the motorcycle was taken to hospital by London ambulance services.
Although not life-threatening, police said it could be life-changing.
The car stopped at the scene.
Local roads were closed while emergency services responded to the incident.
The road has since been reopened.
A London Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police officers were alerted to SE23’s Langton Rise at 9:26 am on Wednesday 7 June.
“There were reports that a car and a motorcycle collided.
“The motorcycle rider suffered a serious leg injury.
“He was taken to hospital by a London ambulance service in a non-life-threatening, but potentially life-altering condition.
“The car stopped at the scene.
“Local roads were closed while emergency services responded, but have now reopened.”
