Like most, we can’t wait for wedding restrictions to be relaxed.

Wedding trends change and evolve every year, much like fashion, but in a post-pandemic world, the transition has been a little more dramatic for 2021. And, in other instances, it has refocused attention on what matters when two people pledge to one other for the rest of their lives.

Some of these ideas are so clever that we believe they may be used in future weddings. Menus, décor, and planning trends can help make a party memorable even after constraints are gone.

Here are 7 post-COVID wedding trends we think will stay:

 1. Build your Wedding Websites

The aim of a website design is to serve as a one-stop-shop for guests, allowing them to quickly learn all the info they need about your special day. The who, what, where, when, and even the enjoyable stuff like “why” are all important questions to ask. It’s a fantastic resource for guests to use as a guide so that they don’t directly contact you or your spouse in the days leading up to your wedding.

  1. Micro-Wedding Scene

In a post-pandemic world, this tendency speaks for itself, but let’s go a bit further. Yes, you may want to keep the guest list limited so that the number of individuals who attend is kept to a minimum. But, maybe, over the last year and a half, you’ve also learned that all you need to be joyful on your wedding day is your closest and dearest relatives and friends by your side.

  1. Fresh Color Palettes

Colors inspired by nature will be increasingly popular in wedding décor in 2021, with more couples choosing brighter palettes. A lengthy time of seclusion and limitations has led to a desire for colorful, vivid decors that combine all kinds of hues. Wedding planners no longer suggest whites and creams for this reason. Brides who wish to embrace post-Covid life will choose bold wedding color choices.

Couples are increasingly choosing more deep tones, typically inspired by autumnal hues, while the demand for green and white flower décor drops. Colored suits and tuxedos in tones like burgundy and forest green will be popular in 2021.

  1. Ditching old-school rituals

Couples had to omit some of the more traditional US wedding traditions from their celebrations. And many discovered they didn’t miss them. With customized weddings becoming increasingly popular, couples are concentrating on what traditions mean the most to them.

In 2020, limited attendance and safety regulations made garter and bouquet throwing and conventional cake cutting impossible. Couples nowadays are more inclined to forego traditional traditions in favor of a more personal celebration. That implies some old customs may go away in 2021.

  1. Minimonies

Couples were forced to reduce their guest numbers last year because of security limitations, opting for minimonies, elopements, and tiny weddings instead. It also pushed them to think more carefully about whom they invite, which is something they will continue to do. Couples have learned that a massive blowout isn’t required. And, although we like bigger gatherings, we believe smaller gatherings will continue to be the norm for some time. In contrast, with fewer guests, couples can spend more on creating unforgettable experiences.

  1. Virtual Weddings

With this situation, being prepared for the worst is always a good idea. After a turbulent 2020, you’re probably sick of hearing the term “virtual,” but a virtual wedding is an ideal way to share your wedding with guests from all around the world. Some couples place a higher priority on beginning their married life together than on planning a lavish wedding. As a consequence, we’ve seen couples and grooms marry during the lockdown and livestream their wedding to visitors, so they don’t have to wait. And even when there are no restrictions, live streaming your wedding could be a great idea to enable friends and relatives who can’t make it physically to still experience your special day.

  1. Health & Safety Protocols

For months, health, safety, and sanitation have been on everyone’s concerns — and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. Even after COVID-19 is no longer a thing of the past, the effect will be felt for years to come. With that in mind, greater space between tables, single-serve meals rather than buffets or family-style dinners, and hand-washing/sanitizer stations for guests may be seen at weddings in the future – all aftershocks of the pandemic’s effect. In reaction to the pandemic, wedding venues have increased their cleaning and sanitation requirements, since we all have greater expectations of each other.

So, our thoughts…

The time is shifting. And it’s evolving at a breakneck speed. The new normal for weddings will be drastically different across the globe. Meanwhile, it’s important to remain informed, make better choices, and consider safer methods to organize joyful and safe festivities after the epidemic.

While there is still some uncertainty for 2021, it should not be a deciding factor when planning your wedding. Plan ahead of time, make any adjustments, and most importantly, have fun!
