Wining, Dining and Golf? A Valentine’s Day Date You Won’t Forget

London romantics are raring to venture out for Valentine’s Day 2022 after last year’s fell during a third national lockdown. Traditionally, eating out at a restaurant was a favourite choice for Valentine’s Day, with a quarter of the pre-pandemic population dining out1. Despite a gradual return to restaurant dining since the startof the pandemic2, there is still trepidation over the Omicron variant. As such, it is likely that couples celebrating Valentine’s Day 2022 in London will seek out alternatives to restaurant dining.

Venues like crazy golf are always a popular choice on Valentine’s, as they offer more than just a meal setting. They are easy places in which to socially distance, and couples can enjoy a fun experienceas well as tasty food. A game of mini golf has all the elements to ignite romantic vibesthrough helping each other tee off– or competing. And there is no need to go elsewhere as the food and drink is in the same venue.Couples, double-daters and groups will find crazy golf to be the perfect alternative destination in London this Valentine’s Day.

Rated the top club in the capital by Visit London3,Tripadvisor4, TimeOut5 and more, SwingersCrazy Golf offers the ultimate Valentine’s Day experience at its two venues:

Crazy Golf in the West End

Swingers West End club is centrally located close to Oxford Circus, making it convenient for locals and Valentine’s Day visitors. Situated in the former BHS department store, it has a surprisingly spacious and quirky interior. Accommodating up to 600 people and wheelchair accessible, there are two crazy golf courses, four cocktail bars and four street food vendors. The adult-only venue has no dress code, so keeping it casual or dressing up are both fine. Patrons are not obliged to play crazy golf and welcome to enjoy just the food and drink if desired.

Couples can expect a fun 1920s seaside vibe and can choose from the HelterSkelter course or the Big Wheel course. Both nine-hole courseshave plenty of jumps, moving obstacles and loop-the-loops to keep things fun and competitive. The best is saved for last with the ninth holes incorporating the helterskelteror big wheel.

Crazy Golf in the City

Swingers City club is adjacent to and almost directly underneath the Gherkin in the heart of London’s business district. A few minutes away from Liverpool Street and Bank, it is ideally located for couples celebrating Valentine’s Day after work. Beneath the streets in a former Second World War bunker is the funky destination, complete with clubhouse, two crazy golf courses, five cocktail bars and three street food vendors. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has space for 500 people. Like the West End club, there is no dress code and couples can just come to enjoy drinks or a meal if they prefer not to play.

The theme in Swingers City is 1920s English countryside and there is a Lighthouse course and a Windmill Course. The two nine-hole courses are packed full of bridges, inclines and other fun challenges that keep the conversation – and laughs – flowing.

Visiting Swingers

Walk-up tickets are available and there is cheaper pricing during off-peak hours, which are weekdays before 5 pm. There are also package deals available for advance bookings that include drinks, food and reserved seating. Swingers West End is open every Tuesday to Sunday and closes quite late, staying open until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights and a little earlier during the rest of the week.

Crazy golf on Valentine’s Day

For popular dates like Valentine’s Day, it is advisable to make an online booking in advance. Making a booking involves choosing a 90-minute time slot, and players need to arrive fifteen minutes before that time slot begins. On arrival, a tee-off time is allocated which will fall within the 90-minute time slot. A round of crazy golf takes around 30 to 40 minutes, but there is no time limit on the game or the venue itself.

Food at Swingers

Couples won’t be missing out on delicious food by opting for a crazy golf Valentine’s Day date. With a choice of four of London’s most exciting street food vendors, the only arguments will be about which to try.
